We take pride in our approach to food at FountNursery. As a community nursery, we source our food from other local businesses. For example we source our bread from the Pavillion Bakery. On Thursday’s we visit Hill & Szrok, our local Butchers where we source and buy our meat; they also pop into the green grocer and choose exotic fruits to try out for snack!
We are proud to say our chef has also excellent provenance. Our very own Kerryann Dunlop is a Fifteen Trained Jamie Oliver Chef… she will prepare freshly cooked, locally sourced food for your child each day… You’ll wish you could stay for our nursery mealtimes! In addition, in partnership with FountLondon, children will work alongside experienced chefs to grow produce, which they will prepare, cook and eat. Kerryann will also create a special ‘Dish of the Day’ if we are celebrating! For example birthdays, Chinese New Year, Hanukka, Christmas, Pancake day etc.
Spring is finally upon us and the children will start growing runner beans, tomatoes, strawberries, peas and more in our greenhouse which we share with Il Cudega. We are also going to get the children planting herbs in our herb garden!
Food will be freshly cooked on site and is linked to Government guidelines. Please click on this link to see an example: www.childrensfoodtrust.org.uk. Our ethos is to use fresh produce on a daily basis and this is reflected in our Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter menus.
